*You do NOT have to be auditioning for a competitive team in order to attend the workshop. The workshop is a great way to be introduced to our program and see what a workshop and team environment is like at CADA. If a dancer is on the fence about auditioning, we encourage her to attend the workshop and then decide.

You MUST register for this workshop before Friday, May 15, in order to attend and be considered for auditions. (With prior permission, if you are video-auditioning because you are unavoidably out of town, you must STILL register and pay for this workshop. Your video will be watched and assessed, by a coach, in lieu of your training time in the workshop.)

Workshop info: 3 hours of dance training + auditions for 2026-27 Competition Season CADA Teams. The Dance Advance Workshop is a workshop for all ages to train in several genres of dance and learn a fun dance combination. Genres trained may include ballet, jazz, flexibility, and more. All dancers must register for the workshop with their age group. If we feel a dancer should change levels during the workshop we will shuffle them around. All CADA workshops are non-refundable once paid.

All dancers auditioning for a 2026-27 comp season team MUST attend the entire workshop. Auditions will be held Wed, May 15-16, using material taught at the workshop.

*Remember, IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN AUDITIONING FOR A CADA TEAM: In order to receive ALL information, updates, packets, and the link to the mandatory parent information meeting on May 5, you MUST fill out the form at this link, otherwise it will not be sent to you.

Note: No Parents will be allowed into the studio lobby or hallways or restrooms during the entire workshop or auditions.

What should my dancer bring?

Ballet shoes (tights are not necessary for this workshop), turner shoes are optional for jazz (not required), and a water bottle. Friday any color dance attire is allowed (no attached skirts). Saturday please wear all black dance attire. Hair needs to be pulled back, slicked, and secured tightly. No bangs in your face.

- Ages 5-7: 5:00-6:30pm - Jazz or Ballet & Dance Combo
- Ages 8-10: 5:45-7:15pm - Jazz or Ballet & Dance Combo
- Ages 11+: 6:30-8:00pm - Jazz or Ballet & Dance Combo
Saturday Morning, May 16 - Workshop Part 2
- Ages 5-7: 10:00-11:30am - Jazz or Ballet & Dance Combo
- Ages 8-10: 10:45am-12:15pm - Jazz or Ballet & Dance Combo
- Ages 11+: 11:30am-1:00pm - Jazz or Ballet & Dance Combo
Staurday Afternoon, May 16 - Part 3: Audition Combos
- YOU MUST BRING YOUR AUDITION PACKET WITH YOU ON SATURDAY. If you do not have your FULL audition packet you will not be considered for teams.
  - Go to the Pre-Audition Info Packet that you will receive in email to see additional details and to print and prepare your COMPLETE audition packet. Also see parent audition tips at the end of the packet. (Note: In order to receive this email you must fill out the interest form linked in pink above.)
- During part 3, we will audition some of the technique & dance combos learned in Part 1 and 2.
  - Times:
    - Ages 5-10: 2-3:30pm
    - Ages 11+: 2:45-4:15pm
  - Dancers may be asked to attend a different group than their age. This will be communicated before the end of Part 2.
  - Wear all black dance attire
  - We recommend light stage makeup
  - No parents allowed in the studio or the studio lobby
  - Doors open for dancers 15 minutes prior to audition time so that dancers can warm up on their own
  - Dancers will come into studio 1 in groups and show their dances and combos to a group of teachers

After the audition:

Announcements of team dancers 2026-27 will be sent out in two phases.
- Phase 1: Dancers who have made any CADA 2026-27 competition team will be notified in email by May 20. Dancers who make a team will have their first payment check cashed from their audition folder (regardless of signing the contract and accepting their spot).
- Phase 2: After CADA's Spring Recital in June, dancers who have made a team will be notified which team they have been placed on by June 16.
For parents of dancers placed on a team, there will be a mandatory parent meeting to attend that will take place virtually. Time and Date TBA.
Tuesday, June 16, your dancer's required team class schedule will be loaded into your dancer's DSP account. You will also confirm with us any optional classes you want to add to your 2026-27 schedule that are in addition to your team's required classes. Your optional class choices are due to the office by June 25. These optional classes will be loaded into your DSP account before we run first month's tuition installment for 2026-27 on July 1.
The new Season 2026-27 weekly class schedule begins July 6. Choreography will take place during July and August and dates will be given to families as soon as they are known.
- We value family time and know that summer often includes vacations and time away. That balance is important to us, and we fully expect that some dancers may miss some class days in July.
  Because July is also a key time for choreography, we hope that you will make that a priority as it will be most beneficial to your dancer that they be present. However, if you have a pre-planned vacation over choreography dates, please include those dates on your pre-audition form so that we are aware.
