Monday & Tuesday Workshop plus Optional Wednesday auditions for competition teams.

*You do NOT have to be auditioning for a competitive team in order to attend the workshop. The workshop is a great way to be introduced to our program and see what a workshop and team environment is like at CADA. If a dancer is on the fence about auditioning, we encourage her to attend the workshop and then decide.

You MUST register for this workshop before Monday, May 20, in order to attend and be considered for auditions. (With prior permission, if you are video-auditioning because you are unavoidably out of town, you must STILL register and pay for this workshop. Your video will be watched and assessed, by a coach, in lieu of your training time in the workshop.)

Workshop info: 3 hours of dance training + auditions for 2025-26 Competition Season CADA Teams. The Dance Advance Workshop is a workshop for all ages to train in several genres of dance and learn a fun dance combination. Genres trained may include ballet, jazz, flexibility, and more. All dancers must register for the workshop with their age group. If we feel a dancer should change levels during the workshop we will shuffle them around. All CADA workshops are non-refundable once paid.

If you ARE auditioning for a CADA Team*, all dancers auditioning for a 2025-26 comp season team MUST attend the entire workshop. Auditions will be held Wed, May 22, using material taught at the workshop.

*To those who have signed up as interested for the Micro Mini Team, we ask that your dancer also attend this workshop. These dancers will attend Monday and Tuesday but do NOT need to return on Wednesday for auditions. (However they DO need to bring their audition folder in Monday or Tuesday of the workshop. We must have an audition folder from each dancer, including micro mini dancers, in order to be considered for team.) Micro Mini Team dancers will be announced in email at the same time as our other teams are announced, before May 29.

*Remember, IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN AUDITIONING FOR A CADA TEAM: In order to receive ALL information, updates, packets, and the link to the mandatory parent information meeting on May 13, you MUST fill out the form at this link, otherwise it will not be sent to you.

Note: No Parents will be allowed into the studio lobby or hallways or restrooms during the entire workshop or auditions.

What should my dancer bring?

Ballet shoes (tights are not necessary for this workshop), turner shoes are optional for jazz (not required), and a water bottle. Monday and Tuesday any color dance attire is allowed (no attached skirts). Wednesday please wear all black dance attire. Hair needs to be pulled back, slicked, and secured tightly. No bangs in your face.

Details & tips for those auditioning for CADA Teams 2025-26:

Wednesday, May 21 - Ages 7+ Auditions
- (Note: Micro Mini Team dancers (ages 5-7) do not need to return this day unless you are a dancer age 7 that we invite on Tuesday to come back and try out for the next oldest team.)
- YOU MUST BRING YOUR AUDITION PACKET WITH YOU ON WEDNESDAY! If you do not have your FULL audition packet you will not be considered for teams.
  - Go to the Pre-Audition Info Packet that you will receive in email before May 14 to see additional details and to print and prepare your COMPLETE audition packet. Also see parent audition tips at the end of the packet. (Note: In order to receive this email you must fill out the interest form linked in pink above.)
- We will audition some of the technique & dance combos learned Monday & Tuesday. Dancers age 11+ will also do a one-minute improvisation* to a random song we play and one simple interview question.
  - Times:
    - Ages 8-10: 5:45-7:15pm - Audition
    - Ages 11+: 6:30-8:00pm - Audition
  - Wear all black dance attire
  - We recommend light stage makeup
  - No parents allowed in the studio or the studio lobby
  - Doors open 15 minutes prior to audition time so that dancers can warm up on their own
  - Dancers will come into studio 1 in groups and show their dances and combos to a group of teachers
  - For dancers ages 11+: The improv and interview question is such a fun part of helping us get to know your dancer! You can see the short list of possible interview questions below. First your dancer will do her audition slate (state her name, age, the grade she will be going into, and how long she has been dancing.) Then the judges will choose one interview question to ask. After their interview question they will show their one minute solo improv. The improv playlist will not be given out ahead of time. Improv song style will be either contemporary or lyrical.

      - The CADA Company program is a significant commitment. Please share why you have chosen to commit so many hours of your life to dance.
Thursday, May 22 - Call Backs, only if needed. Would occur between the hours of 5-8pm. If we would like you to come back on Thursday, call back phone calls will be made before 9pm the night of Wednesday, May 21, so that you know if you need to return. If you do not get a call to come back, that does not mean you have not made a team. It only means we did not need to see the dancers an additional day. If we do not need you to come back on Thursday, you will not receive a Wednesday night call.

For those who audition on Wednesday:

Announcements of team dancers 2025-26 will be sent in email by May 29. Dancers who make a team will have their first payment check cashed from their audition folder (regardless of signing the contract and accepting their spot).
For parents of dancers placed on a team, there will be a mandatory parent meeting to attend by Zoom, Monday, **June 2, 7:00-8:30 pm. A virtual meeting link will be sent.
Thursday, May 29, your team's required class schedule will be loaded into your dancer's DSP account. You will also confirm with us any optional classes you want to add to your 2025-26 schedule that are in addition to your team's required classes. These optional classes will be loaded into your DSP account before we run first month's tuition installment for 2025-26 on June 1.
June 2 Season 2025-26 Season and Team Training begins.
